FIRST Nevada Programs

Overview

Guided by adult coaches, and FIRST® Core Values, students use LEGO® elements and motorized parts to build a model that moves. They also develop a Team Poster to illustrate their journey.

Teams design their own solution to a real-world problem and build autonomous LEGO® SPIKE™ Prime robots that perform a series of missions based on an annual theme.

Students design and build a competitive, dynamic robot from a kit of parts. A yearly themed robotics game brings a new challenge and exciting learning opportunities to collaborate and problem-solve year after year.

Teams of students build and program a robot to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors, and are challenged to design a team brand, and hone teamwork skills.

Grades & Ages

Team Composition

Teams of 2-6 children formed by schools, after-school programs, home schools or community groups.

Time Commitment

1.5 hour meetings generally held for 10 weeks

Two-hour meetings generally held for 12 weeks

Two-to-three hour meetings generally held twice a week for 18-20 weeks

FIRST Nevada Season Fees and Support

$50 per team. Includes participation at all workshops and festivals.

$150 per team. Includes participation in (1) Qualifier event, Workshops/ Scrimmages, as well as a Nevada Championship event for teams who qualify.

$200 per team. Includes participation in Nevada League play, Workshops/ Scrimmages, League Tournament, and the State Championship for teams that qualify.
